Story time

Thu Mar 16, 2006, 2:44 AM
Hello readers. its been a long time, i know. But, i have returned. I decided to take a break from being a poor university student to come and impart another of my hum-drum pearls of wisdom unto you, the public at large. And also maybe get a laugh or two. I can only hope. but anway:

There are two tribes (im not gonna specify which two, it isn't important) who both do a rain dance. When one of the tribes dance, it never rains. But it always rains when the other tribe dances. For a good long time, the first tribe had no idea what they were doing differently to the second. But as sure as anything it would only rain when the second tribe did the rain dance. So it came to a point where the chief of the first tribe called for a meeting with the chief from the second tribe.
"How is it that it always rains when you dance?" he asks him.
"It's simple," he replies. "We dance until it rains."

I think there's something in that for everyone.
It had tribes, chiefs, dancing, everything! but it has an important message. And if you didn't pick up on that message by yourself im goingto explain it to you. This is one i know well as it is probably the one piece of advice i most frequently give to the endless people seeking my advice/help/whatever. That message is to just give it time. Nothing really good happens perfectly on cue like it should. And its true that good things come to those who wait. So practice a little patience, but more (and probably most) importantly, believe that the good thing will happen eventually. because it will. Really. You just gotta go out on a bit of faith ;)

Well, thats all for now. I hope, if nothing else, that this entertained you, and if you got some deeper wisdom from this well thats just dandy :aww:. I like to think they're at least a little helpful to at least one person who reads these. As that is their intent.

Until next time readers.

Meaning of Life

Fri Jan 13, 2006, 3:40 AM
Big question time. so, what is the meaning of life? there are so many schools of thought and so many opinions. Are we part of a pointless biological cycle or is there something more. Life is a stage and we are its actors. but is there anyone watching the show? The Christian faith would have us believe, as would most mainstream religions, that our purpose in existence is to perform good acts so that we may earn our way into a well-rewarding afterlife. Most of those good acts involving some sort of worship, homage or thanks to an all powerful diety. Buddhism would have us perform good acts and be nice people so that we can slowly reach our way to enlightenment. And science would prove to us that we are slowly but surely plodding thru evolution, everyday bringing us one step closer to the eventual decay of our universe.

So what to do? Do we just live as society tells us to? go to school, get a job, get married, have children, grow old, die. Or do we rebel? start a revolution, cure a major disease, become president, teach disabled children how to read and write? So many different life choices we can make, to enrich our lives. make something of our small time on this planet. But what is the one true path? The singular reason for why we are here?

If you ask me (nobody has but im still gona make my voice heard), the answer is simple. The meaning of live is to love and be loved. Thats it. All it is. Saint John of Lenon said it best. All you need is love. (if ive used this quote before, too bad, its a good quote and you'll do good to remember it.

It's late and i cant think of anything more to say. Less is more. Keeping it simple tonite, i hope you can find the deeper meaning on ur own.

Stay Cool guys ;)

So long, So Quiet

Tue Jan 3, 2006, 8:57 PM
I realised the other day that i haven't posted for a while and that i should. to bring in the new year or some shit like that.

2006. its a new year, another 12 months until we can say stuff like that again. By April nobody's gonna care that it's 2006. funny that. One thing about the new year that always gets me is people's infinite weakness in their new-year's-resolutions. I have actually seen somebody say they were quitting smoking as they lit one up. Or the diet starting "tomorrow". Come on people, where's the self control. Personally i don't make a habit of making new year's resoultions. because i don't normally need to. if i wana change something about myself i just do it. I dont muck around with this resolution shit. Plus people use the fact that it was "just a new-year's-resolution" to wave away the fact that they couldnt be bothered making the effort to stick to it! people are so goddamn lazy sometimes.

If you're too fat or smoke too much or have wierd fixations on chicken salt or anything like that that frankly you could do without, just get rid of it. And quit your bitching.

That's my rant for today. I'll have something more meaningful and less accusing next time i post. I promise.
